Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is named
after Dr. Edvard Ehlers, a Danish dermatologist (1863–1937) and Dr.
Henri-Alexandre Danlos, a French dermatologist (1844–1912). These two physicians
combined the patient features of the condition and accurately delivered the phenotype
of EDS.
In 1936 an English physician, Dr. Frederick
Parkes-Weber suggested to name tins inherited genetic disorder as ‘Ehlers-Danlos
syndrome’ (EDS).
