So when does FOP start?
When someone with FOP is born, there is no evidence that there
is any of the extra-skeletal bone which has started. The child’s embryonic
development is pretty normal—except for a bent great toe. The bone formation
typically starts by the age of 5. There have been some cases where it starts in
the 1st month and others where someone is 10 or little greater.
